Distillers Grains

While East Kansas Agri-Energy produces millions of gallons of ethanol from the more than 16 million bushels of locally-sourced corn every year, we also produce more than 200,000 tons of distillers grains (wet and dry) from those same bushels of corn.

That’s because the ethanol process only uses the starch portion of the kernel. Corn oil is also separated from the kernel, which leaves distillers grains, a high-quality feed ingredient that’s an ideal feed for livestock, especially cattle producers.
